Nipmuc Youth Basketball - About Us
The Nipmuc Youth Basketball is the combination of many years of youth basketball programes for Mendon and Upton youth. The Recreation side of the program was coordinated through the Upton Youth Club and in the day many games were played at the Upton Town Hall. The Travel side of the program was a stand alone program formally called Mendon Upton Travel Basketball and run by a small group of volunteers. The two programs merged in 2013 and in doing so it only made sense to change the name to Nipmuc Youth Basketball.
The NYB Basketball Program continues to grow with approximately 500 youth playing in one or the other program (some participate in both).
NYB continues to be committed to providing the best basketball experience possible.
Some of our priorities are:
-
Develop a comprehensive instruction plan for Pre-K through 4th grade
-
Develop a working relationship with Nipmuc Varsity Basketball coaches to help develop NYB coaches
-
Continue to make improvements to the Recreation Program for older divisions
-
Offer skills clinics during the season and off season
-
Develop off season program
Nipmuc Youth Basketball welcomes your feedback and suggestions.
